2. Conectiva Linux
Conectiva Inc. is a Brazilian company which distributes Linux packages in all of Brazil as well as South America and also develops solutions for the Linux platform. In 1999 it was awarded by Info Exame Magazine the award for The Year’s Most Innovative Company. Conectiva Linux 4.0 was also elected the Best Operating System. Conectiva is the first distributor of Linux outside the US – Europe – Japan axis.

3. Definity Linux
Definity Linux is a Brazilian Linux distribution based on Slackware Linux.

4. Dizinha Linux
Dizinha Linux is a Brazilian Linux live CD based on Debian GNU/Linux and Kurumin Linux.

5. Dreamlinux
Dreamlinux is a Brazilian distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux. A live CD with a graphical hard disk installation option, it boots directly into an Xfce or GNOME desktops which provide access to a good collection of desktop applications and a central control panel for system configuration.

6. Ekaaty Linux
Ekaaty Linux is a Brazilian community distribution based on Fedora Core. Its single-CD releases are geared towards desktop use in business and home environments, with KDE desktop, Smart package manager, BrOffice.org office suite, Kontact personal information management suite, and antivirus/antispam tools forming the backbone of the distribution. Ekaaty Linux supports English and Portuguese languages only.

7. Epidemic GNU/Linux
Epidemic GNU/Linux is a Brazilian desktop Linux distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux. Its main features are the KDE desktop, easy-to-use installer, 3D desktop features with CompizFusion, use of the GFXBoot bootloader, out-of-the-box support for numerous proprietary and non-free kernel drivers, and support for a variety of media codecs.

8. Famelix GNU/Linux
Famelix is a GNU/Linux distribution developed by Brazil’s Faculdade Metropolitana de Guaramirim (FAMEG) and based on Debian GNU/Linux. Its peculiarity lies in the adaptation of the user interface so that it resembles Windows Vista as much as possible.

9. Freedows
Freedows is a Brazilian commercial distribution based on Fedora Core. Several editions are available, including Lite, Standard, Thin Client, Professional, and SMB. Among them only the Lite edition is available for free download via BitTorrent.

10. GEOLivre Linux
GEOLivre Linux is a Kurumin-based Brazilian live CD geared towards geographical use. Among its specialist software one can find MapServer, GRASS, JUMP, QGIS, Thuban, GPSMan, GPSDrive and other related applications.

11. GoblinX
GoblinX is a bootable live CD distribution based on Slackware Linux. The primary goal for GoblinX is to create a more pleasant and functional desktop, standardising all icons and themes to make it easy for novice users to learn about available applications.

12. GoboLinux
GoboLinux is a Linux distribution that breaks away from the historical UNIX directory hierarchy. Basically, this means that there are no directories such as /usr and /etc. The main idea of the alternative hierarchy is to store all files belonging to an application in its own separate subtree; therefore we have directories such as /Programs/GCC/2.95.3/lib. To allow the system to find these files, they are logically grouped in directories such as /System/Links/Executables, which, you guessed it, contains symbolic links to all executable files inside the Programs hierarchy. To maintain backwards compatibility with traditional Unix/Linux apps, there are symbolic links that mimic the Unix tree, such as “/usr/bin -> /System/Links/Executables”, and “/sbin -> /System/Links/Executables” (this example shows that arbitrary differentiations between files of the same category were also removed).

MURIX is a Linux distribution created with the goal to function on all hardware platforms. It is based on Linux From Scratch.

Poseidon Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution designed for academic and scientific use. Although based on Kurumin Linux, it enhances its parent by adding a large number of applications for GIS/maps, numerical modelling, 2D/3D/4D visualisation, statistics, tools for creating simple and complex graphics, programming languages and more. 6 pessoas! Algum mais se habilita?

Se este eventual grupo de pessoas desejar, posso oferecer alguns dos recursos técnicos necessários (registro de um domínio, custeio do primeiro ano de hospedagem do site, etc.) A condição é de que seja formado um grupo com pelo menos 6 pessoas, que definam entre si um método de trabalho e administração, que este método seja aberto à entrada e participação dos novos membros, e que o programa de atividades, incluindo a descrição dos produtos que serão gerados, a participação de cada membro, os prazos previstos e as origens de cada recurso necessário, seja divulgado publicamente até o dia 20 de julho de 2008, confirmado por todos os membros mencionados (por intermédio de mensagens publicadas na lista do grupo), analisado por mim, e considerado factível. Idealmente, este programa de atividades pode se basear no formato de um Termo de Abertura de Projeto + Declaração de Escopo Preliminar definidos no PMBOK, mas outros modelos podem ser adotados, a critério do grupo. Deve haver também o compromisso de que os artefatos e produtos gerados pelo grupo sejam integralmente licenciados sob uma licença de documentação livre (pode ser até mesmo a CC, desde que não seja uma de suas variantes não-livres).

Como ainda estou padecendo da falta de tempo disponível para a internet não fiz e nem criei uma postagem colocando os links respectivos de cada uma, mas pode dar uma olhada na relação dele aqui:

Como disse, se tudo aqui em casa voltar a normalidade logo farei uma relação dessas, com os links corretos (e atualizando sempre que houver necessidade), inclusive no meu site antigo tinha (na época usava o Joolma e tinha uma seção só para relacionar distribuições), mas com a mudança da engine ficou meio difícil de manter de uma forma mais acessível.
